Celebrate 25 years with The Miami Symphony Orchestra as we welcome back popular Spanish classical guitarist Ángel Romero, along with the virtuosic pianist Andreas Boyde to commemorate MISO's Silver Anniversary Season. Maestro Eduardo Marturet leads a colorful program of world premieres including his very own homage to Cuban painter Waldo Balard, and a surprising work co-written by Concierto de Aranjuez composer Joaquín Rodrigo and Ángel Romero, entitled Rincones de España.

Bach's Brandenburg Concertos are a collection of diverse instrumental pieces, each one requiring a distinctive combination of musical sounds. Prokofiev's First Symphony follows a traditional symphonic structure and was greatly influenced by the classical masters, while Garcia's Voces Celestiales reveals a deep, sonorous work showcasing the unique textures of the string bass with soloists Jeff Bradetich and Luis Gomez-Imbert.

The Miami Symphony Orchestra welcomes back pianist Konstantin Soukhovetski for a momentous evening of Russian music, featuring the complex and mystical sounds of Scriabin's last orchestral work ever written, Prometheus. The score for this ecstatic work includes a part for color organ, played by MISO Artist-In-Residence Kiran Shiva Akal, which associates specific colors with musical keys, harmonies, and sounds. Dance music from opera Prince Igor, as well as Tchaikovsky's renowned and majestic Symphony No. 5 brings MISO's historic 25th Anniversary Season to a close.
