Approaching our 20th anniversary next season, it is a good opportunity to look towards the future. It is relevant to reflect on the quality of life for this great city; appreciating the meaning of having symphonic music at the highest level and understanding the implications of nurturing an organization like the Miami Symphony Orchestra.

Looking back at the trials and errors of South Florida’s troubled waters of orchestral activities, one realizes that keeping the show up and running for two decades is close to a miracle. The most important point to understand is that the vital part of the equation is our audience – without you we would simply lack the inspiration to embark on this most exciting journey which, as you well know, is not void of financial obstacles. Indeed, it was then a titanic task for Maestro Manuel Ochoa and still is a permanent preoccupation for our most dedicated and committed Board of Directors who fully understands what our community needs and deserves.

In spite of all the effort and hard-work, it is very rewarding to know that our audience does not consider the Miami Symphony Orchestra to be just a luxury but, rather, a necessity; an organic and essential part of our community. This represents a great challenge though, as we have learned that our faithful public expects so much from us.

The latest surveys, that you have kindly cared to answer after the concerts (web version coming soon), show a consistent wish for more concerts. This is also one of our main priorities. As we intend to incorporate more performances in our season, we would like you to know that your preferences and musical taste are taken into great consideration.
